THEORY FRIENDS & FAMILY SALE PICKS
Jennifer Mejia
When I used to have to wear suits to work, I owned about seven Theory suits. They fit well. They were conservative while still being feminine. The fabric tolerated long commutes and dry cleaning after sweating during stressful meetings. A few weeks ago when I asked for suggested blog post topics, someone asked me for capsule wardrobe pieces/wardrobe staples. I can’t think of any brand that is consistently more classic and timeless than Theory. Pieces from Theory are investment pieces because they are timeless but also because they’re expensive. But a few times a year, they have their Friends & Family Sale. And it’s on NOW! So I can’t think of a better time to stock up.
I find that the pieces I reach for most in my closet are solids. You can mix and match them for endless possibilities, and you can dress them up or down with shoes, jewels, and even the way you tuck or don’t tuck a top into your bottoms. Theory cashmere is soft and doesn’t seem to pill as quickly as others I have. Their coats and jackets have a structured and feminine cut, providing a shape that flatters. Theory has been selling J Brand denim (also in black) for a few years, and I purchased two pair on sale a while back…and I’ve just about worn them out. The pouch handbags are very in, and these are a great option made with genuine leather if you don’t want to pay Bottega Veneta prices. Scarves give every woman that city chic look, whether it’s over a sweater, blazer, or coat. A classic white button down belongs in every woman’s closet.
I’ve owned this black leather blazer I’m wearing for about four years, and thankfully for you, they’ve brought it back. It’s timeless, and if you purchase only one piece during this sale, I’d recommend you splurge for that one. I wear it with denim (obviously), I’ve thrown it over my shoulders over a dress, and I wear it with almost any color trouser. It elevates any look. It makes a woman instantly chic.
You can shop my favorites by clicking on the images below. It’s that simple. Buy classics, buy quality, and you’ll never be disappointed.
