I LIKE YOUR STYLE, CROCODILE!

I have fond childhood memories of crocodile accessories. I stayed with my grandparents before and after school until sixth grade. My grandmother had the most beautiful shoe collection, and at the change of every season, I’d help her move last season’s shoes to the hallway closet for storage and move the current season’s shoes into her bedroom. My favorite pair of shoes were a pair of block heel crocodile pumps in the color of a crocodile. She was a size 8, one size too large. When she passed, her shoes were donated to the thrift store at her church. Someone got really lucky! She also had a croc handbag. She loved fashion, especially shoes. And I suppose that’s likely when and where my love of shoes and all things crocodile began.

This Fall, crocodile is a big thing. Needless to say, I’m thrilled! I think a croc bag, whether real or faux, is a great accessory to invest in because it will serve you well for years to come. Yes, it may go “out” for a few seasons, but rest assured, it will come back. Evidence is the story about my grandmother.

I found this faux croc handbag for under $60. It comes in brown and also in black. I chose brown because of its versatility. I’m a big fan of black and white dressing, but I also feel it’s more interesting with a splash of “color,” even if that color is a neutral like brown/nude/cognac/tan. Imagine this outfit with black shoes and a black bag. It would still be stunning and classic, which is always wonderful and safe. But accessorizing with brown is a bit more unexpected and delightful, in my opinion. And then of course, this brown bag and shoes would pair nicely with cream, camel, pink, navy, gray, and beyond.

My vegan leather skirt and sweater are versatile basics to mix and match. The tie waist of the skirt provides shape that I need since I don’t have much of a figure. The zipper makes it a little edgy, while the small slit in the front makes it a bit more sexy without overdoing it. I’ll be wearing the sweater with trousers and blue and black denim. My suede pumps are absolute classics, and you can’t go wrong with them. You’ve seen them before and you’ll be seeing a lot more of them this Fall and Winter.

You can shop this entire look below. But most importantly, I’ve curated a collection of 25 croc handbags, some real and some faux, for you to shop. For fun, I’ve thrown in one handbag that is nearly $100,000! Run—it’s definitely going to go quickly. Ha! If you purchase it through my link, I’ll send you a rebate check for $5,000! I’ve also thrown in one lizard bag because it was cute and I couldn’t resist. And I don’t think there are enough of them to do an entire post on lizard accessories.
