Sequins & Stilettos Date Night

Last Friday night, we needed to get out. Just the two of us. Just to catch up on life. Sometimes I feel like my husband and I are two ships passing in the night, surviving by hurried text messages filled with typos because I'm always doing five things at once. So although it was a warm summery evening in NYC and I might have normally opted for a flowy sundress, I decided to put on stilettos and a "flowy" sequinned halter, paired with my trusty leather leggings. I needed to feel a little bit 'Sex and the City' (it was their 20-year anniversary last week), and these three things combined did that for me, as does each one individually.
The pants and shoes are my go-to for nights out. Both were an investment, but we need investments that will stand the test of time in style and durability. We should all have a few things that go with many pieces in our closet and are quality-made so we can hang onto them for years. My pants and shoes are about three years old, and the top is new this season. But don't worry, I'm linking similar pants and shoes so you can get the look if you fancy it.

The top is sold out in larger sizes online but is in stock in stores (seen just yesterday). I went up a size because I wanted it a bit looser (and I have a long torso).
The leather leggings I have are Rag & Bone, but this option from L'Agence is fairly similar. I wear them all the time. I mean it. You will never regret having a pair of pants like this in your closet.
