SEDONA OUTFIT OF THE NIGHT
Jennifer Mejia
This is my first fashion post in which I’m “modeling.” And I have to tell you that I felt really odd and uncomfortable doing it. A model I am not. I managed to have initial photos of myself taken for this blog, but only with the help of my professional photographer friend Traci Giles, who is an expert at putting people at ease and making them look their best. But I’m on vacation with very little time, and I feel like I’m slacking on my commitment to myself when I don’t post. I suppose the red rock surrounding us inspired me to choose this outfit for our last night in Sedona. But I’d feel just as comfortable wearing it out to dinner in NYC or the beach during the spring and summer.
So here it is. The top and jeans are from Loft. At the time of this post, the top is on sale! It’s a new favorite of mine because I envision also wearing it with darker denim and even black leather skinny pants in the fall. And I love the white jeans because of the double fringe at the bottom. I’m definitely drawn to the frayed and ripped look, but sometimes I feel like I may be too old to really pull off distressed denim. These jeans are the perfect solution because they give you some of that look without overdoing it. White denim goes with just about anything!
The espadrilles in the photo are Castaner but probably at least eight years old (they’re obviously very well made), so I’ve offered a few alternatives. The necklace was purchased over a decade ago, but I’ve featured a classic Chan Luu version that was part of a previous post, which only highlights its versatility. The bag was featured in my “Ready for the Resort” post and is equally versatile. Click on the product names below each photo to shop.
