BLAZER WEATHER
Jennifer Mejia
I love this time of year when it's too cold to go without a jacket but too hot to wear our full winter gear. Perfect for the perfect blazer! Nothing says timeless, chic, and stylish like a blazer that fits you like a glove. Who can forget the images of Jennifer Aniston in that swoon-worthy Balmain blazer? If my kids didn't need to eat, I'd splurge and buy it because it doesn’t get much better for a closet staple. A great blazer is one that's versatile and classic. It can be worn with jeans, leather leggings, trousers, skirts, and over dresses. I have a gray DVF military blazer from 15 years ago that I still wear today, in addition to a navy blue Zara blazer from about 12 years ago.
To kick off blazer season, I'm sharing a few of my favorites. If you can only buy one, it's best to buy black or navy. But above all else, it's the fit that matters. In general, I've found Veronica Beard, Smythe, L'Agence, and Rag & Bone to be wonderfully tailored. Of course, if you can afford to splurge for Balmain, I don't think you'll regret it. For staples like this, you should always buy the nicest one you can afford. Click on product names to shop.
